The memorial will be moved by mid-October from Altgeld Hall to the Holmes Students Center to make it easier for people who want to visit it.
The memorial includes a video, letters of support and a flag flown at the Pentagon in honor of the school.
Five students were killed during the February attacks when a former student opened fire at Cole Hall and then killed himself.
The NIU Memorial Committee is working on creating a permanent memorial for the school.
