People wake up early to hunt down free McDonald's Smoothies

UNDATED (WREX) - 25 people will enjoy free McDonald's Smoothies for a year after finding the giant hidden cups during the Smoothie Scavenger Hunt Thursday morning.

WREX brought you several clues that helped people track down the cups that were hidden at well-known locations in Rockford, Roscoe, Loves Park, Cherry Valley, Belvidere, Oregon, Rochelle, South Beloit, and Beloit.

The hunt started at 5:00 a.m. LIVE on 13 News Today. By 9:00 a.m. all the cups were found. They were all hidden outdoors. The clues and locations are listed below.

1. The employees at this location work six days per week to "deliver" your bills, magazines and greeting cards. (US Post Office – 11th Street)

2. At this Rockford location you can enjoy majestic colors of fall, hundreds of blooming crabapples in spring, butterfly gardens in summer, and snow-covered evergreens in winter. (Klehm Arboretum)

3. This location was once known as the Rockford Sketch Club. (Rockford Art Museum)

4. At this Rockford location, the lanes are open for you to enjoy a night full of strikes and spares with friends. (Cherry Bowl)

5. You can shop till you drop at this location in Rockford, it's the area's premier indoor shopping mall with more than 130 stores. (CherryVale Mall)
