GERMAN VALLEY (WREX) - A group that saves animals' lives now wants to save the environment.
The Critter Camp Exotic Pet Sanctuary in German Valley wants to build a solar and wind powered sanctuary to house one thousand animals. The business can't do that without your help. It's one of 50 finalists vying for a $250,000 grant through the Pepsi Refresh Project. Critter Camp Director Beth Randall says the pet sanctuary is a one-of-kind place. "We did not expect to become this big. We have over 300 animals now. We're the only one in the country that does this, that takes in old, the sick, the chronically ill, the disabled, and the aggressive."
