ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford College softball team has its most successful week of the young 2010 softball season last week, with two convincing wins over Maranatha Baptist Bible College and falling just short in a game against Dominican University. The solid efforts of a Rockford senior were honored as Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week.
Senior Andrea Hundertmark (Freeport, Ill./ Forreston) was almost automatic last week, going an astonishing 13-15 for an .867 batting average and 1.267 slugging average. The physical education major also recorded a double, a triple, and a home runs during Rockford's 2-2 week, while scoring eight runs, knocking in five runs, and going 5-5 in stolen bases. Hundertmark was also perfect on five defensive chances.
The Regents will again need Hundertmark's leadership this week as Rockford hosts two of the NAC's best teams in Benedictine University on Thursday and Aurora University on Saturday, before traveling to Madison, Wis. on Sunday to face Edgewood College.
