ROCKFORD (WREX) - Fire destroys a room at a vacant Rockford motel.
At around 5:30pm, firefighters were called to the Six Penny Inn at 4205 11th Street. Smoke was pouring out of the window of one of the rooms when they got there. Investigators say it was electrical and started in the air conditioner. No one was hurt.
This is the second fire at the Six Penny this year. The first one, back in January was bigger. It caused about $100,000 damage.
