Firefighters worked through thick smoke to get the fire under control.ROCKFORD (WREX) - Not much is left after a fire ripped through a home on Blackhawk Island overnight.
Firefighters got the call to the 130 block of Shore Driver around 11:15 on Thursday night. There, they found a house engulfed in flames. It burned right down to the frame. They say it's destroyed.
The Blackhawk Fire Protection District says the home was vacant. The cause is under investigation.
