
ROCKFORD (WREX) - Two veteran members of the Rockford Police Department are celebrating promotions.
Sergeant Marc Welsh has been promoted to Lieutenant. Welsh is a 22 year veteran of the force who is currently assigned to the Field Services Bureau, Community Services Unit and will be assigned to the Field Services Bureau Night Shift under the overall command of Deputy Chief Michael Booker.
Detective Carla Redd has been promoted to Sergeant. Redd is a 12 year veteran of the force who is currently assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau, General Case Unit and will be assigned to the Field Services Bureau under the overall command of Deputy Chief Michael Booker.
A ceremony with Police Chief Chet Epperson was held at 1:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Building Friday.
