LOVES PARK (WREX)- The 2010 Winter Olympics are almost over, but fundraising is just getting started for another olympic showdown.
Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois partnered with Jax Pub in Loves Park to raise money for the Special Olympics. That money goes to support the 2010 Rockford Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge. A percentage of the sales also go to Goodwill's team to support local athletes, and it gives the community the opportunity to come together. "It's something I've grown up in. It's a great thing for the community and it's something that needs to be supported throughout," said Trent Geiger of Team Goodwill for the Polar Plunge.
The Torch Run Polar Plunge is March 6 at Rock Cut State Park.
