ROCKFORD (WREX) - Rockford's Burpee Museum prepares for one of it's biggest events all year.
PaleoFest is this weekend. There will be all sorts of hands on activities for kids, including a children's lecture called "Walk Like A Dinosaur."
There are also lectures and workshops geared toward older audiences.
"We have a dinner speaker at Memorial Hall. His name is Dr. Phillip Curry. He's one of the leading experts on Tyrannosaurs. He's going to be talking about a tyrannosaur bone bed. It's a dinner, talk, and we have an after-hours mixer here at the museum," Scott Williams, Director of Exhibits and Science for the Burpee Museum, said.
PaeloFest is March 6 and 7. For more information go to www.burpee.org
One of the presenters at this year's event will be Dr. Jason Head, Department of Biology. Head is the co-author of a paper that describes a new species of dinosaur-eating snakes. PaleoFest will be the first public presentation to feature this new discovery. You can read more about the study by clicking on the link to the left of this story.
