ROCKFORD (WREX) - About a dozen people from Rockford pack up to go to Honduras on a mission trip through Christ the Rock Lutheran Church.
They'll go to some of the poorest parts of the country to offer medical treatment and supplies. The volunteers will also help families buy pouring concrete floors for their homes, and spread their church's spiritual message.
"It's a really neat opportunity to meet the people where they live, and show them that you care, and mirror God's love for them, and to provide some needed care," said David Nyman, one of the church members going on the trip. He says they will stay in Honduras for a week.
