ROCKFORD (WREX) - Even though we've had a several winter storms already this season Winnebago County and Rockford still have plenty of salt supply available.
So far the county has only used 20 - 25% of its stockpile. Rockford's used about the same.
Rockford Street Division operations manager Mark Stockman says after this next round of snow moves through we'll be close to where we normally are for snowfall at this time of the year.
"If things got much worse we might have to conserve a little bit by the end of the winter but at this time our salt supply is not an issue," says Stockman.
He adds, the city has access to another 6 - 10,000 tons of salt too if it's needed.
