ROCKFORD (WREX) -- It may be freezing outside, but Rockford RiverHawks fans came inside for some baseball fun.
The Rocko's Kids Club had a splash-off event at CoCo Key this afternoon. Members of the club, which is for kids 12 and under, got in for free. In addition to the swimming there was also a raffle for prizes and food and drink specials.
"Every month to six weeks we're planning a big event to promote the kids club and RiverHawks baseball," says Bill Czaja, director of broadcasting and media relations for the Rockford RiverHawks. "It may be the middle of the winter but in here it's always 84 degrees at CoCo Key."
And in case you're wondering, the Hawks' first game is on May 20.
