John StrandinROCKFORD (WREX) -- There was an open house today for one of Rockford's most unique schools.
Spectrum opened its doors to future kids and their parents. The school has multiaged classrooms and is open to all grade levels. Leaders say they don't give out letter grades or report cards, but instead send detailed notices to parents on a regular basis.
John Strandin, board president and a parent, says, "You really have to come in and look at it and see what the kids experience here at the school in order to really appreciate it, and that's why we have the open house."
Strandin says if you missed the open house you can always call the school and set up a visit.
