Three arrested in gang-related stabbing in Belvidere

BELVIDERE (WREX) - Belvidere Police have arrested three people in the gang-related stabbing of a 19-year-old man.

Police arrested David Berrera, 17, Peter Hernandez, 17, and a 15-year-old Poplar Grove boy on attempted murder and armed violence charges.

They're accused of stabbing Brian Serratos, 19, more than a dozen times in the 400 block of Glenwood Drive Tuesday night. Serratos was treated at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.

Berrera and Hernandez are being held in the Boone County Jail. The juvenile suspect is being held in the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center. They were arrested on Thursday.
