Sydney Ives laid to rest in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WREX) - The funeral for the little girl who died from an inoperable brain tumor was held in Rockford Thursday morning.

11-year-old Sydney Ives lost her brave fight against cancer late Saturday night. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor in May of 2008.

Her visitation was Wednesday night at Rockford First Assembly, 5950 Spring Creek Road. Her funeral services were also held there Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

This weekend Ives will be honored at the Rockford IceHogs games. Earlier this year the IceHogs named her an honorary member of the team.
