Illinois National Guard soldiers return to Machesney Park Monday.MACHESNEY PARK (WREX) - The final round of soldiers based in Machesney Park return home after a year at war.
The soldiers were cheered as they returned to the Machesney Park Armory late Wednesday morning.
A flight delay forced this group of soldiers to wait a couple extra days to get back home. The group they were supposed to return with came home Monday, where a crowd of family and friends were waiting to greet them.
A number of Illinois National Guard soldiers have been returning to the area over the past several weeks, including several groups to Machesney Park and Dixon.
