Local businesses get new ideas at Bioenergy Days in Sweden

UNDATED (WREX) - A group of local business leaders and owners spend the week in Sweden, looking for new ways to grow their "green" business.

WREX General Manager John Chadwick was among those that attended all three days of the Bioenergy Days event in Sweden. You can read his Twitter updates from the event in the widget to the top right of this story.

Bioenergy Days serves as an opportunity for local companies to learn about the latest enviornmentally-friendly technology that can help them grow their "green" business. Many companies in Sweden have already implemented this technology and the members of the Rockford area group were hoping to learn how to start putting some of those ideas to use in our region.

"Sweden is one of the leading countries in developing and implementing fossil fuel independence, a goal they began in 2006 and will reach by 2020," stated RAEDC Vice President for Development Mark Podemski.  "As with the other trade delegations, this trade mission is also a time to match Rockford Area companies with those in Sweden, as well as continue to attract Swedish companies to locate in the U.S."
