John SorensonMACHESNEY PARK (WREX) - The body of a man found dead over the weekend in Machesney Park has been identified as the man wanted in the stabbing of a woman.
John Sorenson, 51, of Machesney Park was found in a wooded area near 933 Glen Forest Drive on Saturday.
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office says it appears he died sometime last Monday night or Tuesday morning.
His cause of death has not been determined.
A warrant was out for his arrest after police say he stabbed a woman during a domestic dispute last week. The woman was recovering from her injuries in an area hospital.
After our original story, 13 News talked with Sorenson's daughter Kimberly Kennedy. She made a plea for her father to turn himself in. She said she hadn't spoken to her father in five years.
