ROCKFORD (WREX) - People living in a home near SwedishAmerican Hospital have to find somewhere else to stay for a while. Fire tore through a home at 1440 4th Avenue around 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Rockford firefighters say it was contained to the second floor, and crews were able to extinguish the flames in a matter of minutes. The first floor has water and smoke damage. Investigators are still trying to figure out how the fire started.
