ROCKFORD (WREX) - Adults wanting to keep their mind sharp get some help from a radio group in Rockford. Maverick Media hosted a Returning to Learning Fair at the Tebala Shrine Temple today.
People interested in continuing their education were able to hook up with schools and other organizations from around the Rockford area.
Organizers say it's important to have an educated workforce in our community, which could have a far-reaching impact on the local economy. The main purpose though, is to help the residents of our community.
"And try to make sure that they're jobs become more secure. They also become maybe more profitable for them and maybe they can find something that they've always wanted to do," WNTA Host Dean Ervin said.
The Returning to Learning Fair runs until 7p.m. at the Tebala Shrine Temple on Newburg Road.
