ROCKFORD (WREX) - As the MetroCentre deals with money problems, it looks south for help. Friday the MetroCentre ad hoc committee heard from someone from the Peoria Civic Center about how it's funded.
Isaac Guerrero from the Rockford Register Star was at the meeting. He says some of the revenue streams between the two cities are different. Guerrero says Peoria has made sure that over the years, the revenue streams designated for the Civic Centre, have actually gone there.
Committee members also found out subsidies Rockford provides to the MetroCentre are not nearly as much as Peoria provides to its arena.
This was supposed to be the ad hoc committee's last meeting, but there will be at least one more. Guerrero says members will work on finalizing a report for the city's Finance and Personnel Committee.
