Rebecca Tyo was sworn into the Rockford Fire Department Friday.ROCKFORD (WREX) - It was a special day for 10 people who are ready to start their careers as firefighters.
The Rockford Fire Department officially welcomed 10 new firefighters during a swearing-in ceremony Friday.
Rebecca Tyo was one of them. She says, "Rockford has a steep history in taking care of and protecting its citizens. They take a lot of pride in that. And that's something that I aspire to be a part of, and I think that it's a tremendous opportunity."
