Former Governor Rod Blagojevich - File PhotoCHICAGO (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn stopped short of endorsing recommendations from the state reform commission, but does call the list a "good blueprint" for straightening out Illinois politics.
The commission is calling for curbs on the political corruption expected to result in the indictment of impeached Gov. Rod Blagojevich this week.
Individual campaign contributions would be capped at $2,400 and those from committees at $5,000.
Procurement officials would be insulated from politics and the state Freedom of Information Act would be toughened under the commission's tentative plan.
Also, $1,000 contributions would be reported within five business days, lobbyists would be barred from donating to campaigns and the names of all subcontractors and lobbyists would be disclosed.
