ROCKFORD (WREX) - Flames tear through a family's home late Monday night.
The fire inside the home at 3004 Kenmore Avenue started just before 10:00 p.m. When the first crews arrived they found smoke and flames shooting out of two sides of the home. All four people inside were able to escape. Two were exposed to heavy smoke, but did not need to go to the hospital.
The fire caused about $30,000 worth of damage. Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused it.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to help the family find a place to stay.
