ROCKFORD - A Rockford company shows off its latest creation to help people get around without gas.
Electric Motions Systems presented its E-Plus at Rock Valley College. It seems like a basic bike with an electric motor, but it's more than that.
A team of engineers spent three years developing the bike. It can reach 20 miles per hour with no pedaling and more than 40 miles per hour with moderate pedaling. "When you run it you feel absolutely normal.... there is no noise there is no vibration and when you cruise it you feel like its a normal bicycle," said Rakesh Dhawan, Electric Motion Systems.
The cost of the bike will run about $3,500.
