ROCKFORD (WREX) - America is kind of in between holidays right now, so what better time to celebrate someone else's?

On Saturday night, a taste of Romania livened things up at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. It's a holiday called Martisor that Romanians use to kick of spring.

The Rockford Sister City Advisory Committee helped put this together as part of its mission to promote mutual understanding between different cultures. Mayor Larry Morrissey also attended the celebration.
