Bob joined the 13 News team as a reporter in September 2008 after working four years as a reporter and editor at the Rockford Register Star.

In addition to his reporting assignment at WREX, Bob also anchors 13 News on Sunday nights and hosts 13 Cares on Sunday mornings.

Before coming to Rockford, Bob spent seven years in St. Louis working as a newspaper reporter, freelance writer and journalism instructor.

In addition to his work in the field of journalism, Bob worked in the aviation industry, starting as an AV-8B Harrier II pilot in the Marine Corps. He then worked for The Boeing Co. (formerly McDonnell Douglas Aerospace) in St. Louis as an aircrew training instructor. In this role he traveled to many foreign locations including Malaysia, Japan, Bahrain, Germany and England.

A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, Bob is originally from Saint Charles, Missouri.

Away from work Bob likes to sail and write. He is married to Julie Schaper, marketing and development director for the Rockford Symphony Orchestra.
