BOONE COUNTY - People in Boone County are being told to watch out for a scam that tells them they've won a Sweepstakes.
A letter saying "exceptionally lucky sweepstakes winner" is being sent out to people from Corporate Claim Services in Canada. The letter includes what appears to be a legitimate check and it gives people a phone number to call to confirm they've won.
The Boone County State's Attorneys Office says the check is not legit, should not be cashed, and you should not call the number.
