Jeannie started her career at WREX in August 2005 as a news producer and has since taken on anchoring duties. Most recently, she also branched out into radio work.
Jeannie co-hosts the B103 morning show and produces and anchors 13 News at Noon. She also produces and hosts our weekly 13 Cares program on Sunday mornings at 7:30.
Jeannie lived in Louisiana until she was 12, but claims South Bend, Indiana, as her hometown. She graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee.
She says she got into news because of her two passions. "I've always loved writing stories, and I love to talk to people. Working in TV news is the perfect combination of the two. 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' also inspires me, because I love the idea of using TV to teach people."
Jeannie says she looks forward to coming to work every day because the people she works with are genuine, fun, and like a second family.
When she's not at work, Jeannie is hopelessly addicted to eBay and loves to dance. She is also a doting aunt to her new niece Tess, born in November of 2011.
Little Known Facts about Jeannie:
I took sign language for two years in high school. I'm a little rusty now, but I still know the basics. During high school, I also marched in the Rose Bowl Parade.
I have been to 10 Oprah Shows in the studio, but 11 if you count the season kick-off concert in 2009 in Chicago's downtown area.
Of all the stories I've done at WREX, the most memorable was doing the Beluga Encounter at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago with Dani Maxwell. Click here to see the video. If you ever get the chance to do it, it's an experience you will never forget!
I get cold very easily, so I keep a space heater under my desk in the newsroom. It's almost always on.
I have an off-screen role in the horror film "Raymond Did It" as the radio newscaster. The film was produced in Rockford and released in 2011. If you look closely, you will also see me as an extra in the movie's graduation party scene.
