The University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford is getting a donation thanks to local organizations.
The IceHogs and Brovember Inc. raised almost $11,000 for prostate cancer research.
Throughout November the Hogs partnered with Brovember to raise awareness and money by growing out their facial hair. The team also donned ugly Chirstmas sweater jerseys for a game and raised money through a silent auction.
"It just let's us go to that next level and helps up move forward and I know all those organizations are going to continue to work with us, which is just fantastic," Dean of University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Alex Stagnero-Green said.
This is the second year the IceHogs and Brovember donated money to fight prostate cancer.
