Students from around the globe display the sights, smells and tastes of their cultures.
Multicultural Club members from Rockford College and Rock Valley College participated in the annual International Food Fair on Saturday. Nearly 18 different dishes from their native countries were prepared and hundreds of people came to sample the food. The event also featured cultural music and dance performances.
"We're not all one type of person," said Michelle Griggs, director of the Rockford College Kobe-Regents Center for Global Education. "We like to celebrate cultures in a way that promotes awareness and to bring people together."
All proceeds from the event go to the local March of Dimes.
