Rockford College signs President Head to new contract


ROCKFORD (WREX) - Rockford College President Robert Head has agreed to a new three year contract.

Head has been leading the college since 2008. His new deal will keep him in place through the 2013-14 school year.

"Dr. Head has provided great leadership to the College during his first three years and the Board is very pleased that his contract has been renewed for another three year period. In addition to being very engaged with the College, Robert and his wife Sheryl have also become active members in the greater Rockford community, serving on several boards of not for profits," said Chair of the Rockford College Board of Trustees Dave Rydell.

"It is an honor to serve Rockford College. I truly enjoy working with our faculty, staff, students, alumni, Board, and friends to strengthen our institution and to expand our impact within higher education. I am excited to continue to move forward with a strategic planning process designed to further enhance the College's 163-year legacy in Rockford of providing an outstanding education for its students," said Dr. Head.

Head is Rockford College's 17th president.
