Rockford College encourages students to sign up for classes

ROCKFORD (WREX) - The hassle and stress of applying to college just got a lot easier.

Rockford College is out at Rockford area high schools all this week for what it calls "Admit Days".  Tuesday, representatives met with kids at ACE High School.  Rockford College Admissions Counselor Jessica Talbert says it's a chance for students to learn what the school has to offer and apply to go there, on the spot.  "We find that sometimes we'll attract students that may not take the initiative to apply online, or apply with us at our visit days, or haven't come to campus yet, that may think that they can't get into college."

ACE High Counselor Kay Trinkle says it gets kids who may not have even though about continuing their education, to sign up to at least talk to someone about it. "I'm excited for these kids. So many of them are first generation. They don't even know the process."

Rockford College made appointments to meet with 13 ACE students.  Trinkle hopes all of those students will enroll at the college.
