Church seminar draws protests from gay community

ROCKFORD (WREX) - A national organization draws protestors with its stop at a Rockford church.   Rockford First hosted Exodus International's "Love Won Out" seminar.   The organization says it offers biblical guidance to people dealing with unwanted homosexuality.   A few dozen people from Rockford's gay community and their supports picketed outside the event. They say Exodus International promotes hate and discrimination against gays.

"What we'd like to point out today is that gay is not something that needs to be cured, it is natural," says Kayt Free, protest organizer.

"What we're providing today is answers regarding how to live out this issue from a biblical perspective," says Randy Thomas, Exodus International Executive Vice President.

About 500 people attended the Exodus event.
