ROCKFORD (WREX) - Rockford's oldest off-track betting facility is now operating from its new facility now.
Trackside Rockford shutdown its old location at 5011 East State Street Sunday in preparation for Tuesday's move to its new facility inside the Don Carter Lanes bowling alley. The new OTB facility opened at noon Tuesday.
The new facility has 82 televisions and 17 betting machines. The joint venture is part of a larger plan to make sure the business stays strong in years to come. "The business has changed so we need to down size. This is in a very expensive piece of property," said Arlington Race Course Director of Operations Gil Carmichael.
