ROCKFORD (WREX) - Despite a loss of 6,300 jobs, the Illinois unemployment rate drops for November. It only went down a tenth of a point. The rate went from 11 to 10.9%. Even with job losses, the numbers show fewer people are looking for work. Illinois has reported a payroll drop for 22 months in a row. The national rate dropped too from 10.2 to 10%. Compared to last November though Illinois' unemployment is four points higher. Rockford's November numbers come out Tuesday. In October, the metro area hit 15.7 which is the worst in the state.
