
St. Louis, MO - A weekend after losing their spot in the top 25 the Illinois men's basketball has now lost out on one of the nation's top recruits from the 2011 class. Chaminade (St.Louis) recruit Bradley Beal verbally committed to the University of Florida choosing the Gators over the Illini, Missouri, and Kansas.
The 6'4 Junior average 23.5 points per game as a Sophomore helping lead Chaminade to the Missouri class 5-A state title. He also scored 19 per game in helping the America 16U team to a gold medal at the FIBA America's tourney this summer.
Beal is rated as the top shooting guard and seventh overall player in his class by rivals.com and the number two shooting guard and tenth overall player by scouts.com.
