CHAMPAIGN (WREX) - Stillman Valley racked up a Class 3A state title game record 52 points, and rolled past Tolono Unity 52-22 on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinals (14-0) trailed for only a matter of moments early after a Unity (13-1) touchdown gave the Rockets a 6-3 lead in the first quarter.
But Stillman's relentless rushing attack proved too much for the Rockets. Adam Cox scored on the ground three times, his brother, Shawn Cox scored twice and fellow senior Brandon Schwengels ran and threw for a score.
The championship is Stillman Valley's fourth in the past 10 years, and fourth in school history.
