WREX.com – Rockford’s News LeaderBarmore family wants federal investigation

ROCKFORD (WREX) - Friends, family, and supporters of Mark Barmore, the man shot and killed in August by Rockford Police take what they call "The Next Step."
That's what tonight's event was called. A number of people, including Barmore's family got up and spoke. There was also a satellite appearance by Jesse Jackson.
The group is unhappy with how long its taking to finish the investigation into the shooting, so it's going to Washington, D.C. to ask for a federal investigation.
The Illinois State Police, which is handling the case, won't comment on the investigation.
