
Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Saturday that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have recalled goalie Alec Richards, defenseman J.C. Sawyer and forward Maxime Tanguay from the team’s ECHL affiliate Toledo Walleye.
Richards and Tanguay were both on Rockford’s opening day roster. Tanguay made his professional and AHL debut with the IceHogs on Oct. 4 at Peoria, registering four shots on goal with a -1 plus/minus rating. Richards backed up Joe Fallon on Oct.4 and both were reassigned to Toledo later that week.
Tanguay is tied for second on the Walleye with nine assists and 14 points with 12 games played. The center chipped in two assists in Toledo’s 4-3 shootout loss in Florida on Friday night.
Richards was docked with the shootout loss against the Everblades on Friday night and has played in seven games with Toledo during his first professional season. Richards carries a 4-1-0-2 record in 2009-10 with a .903 save percentage and a 2.75 goals against average.
Sawyer has played 19 games with the IceHogs over the past two seasons racking up three goals and an assist. The blue-liner currently leads all Walleye skaters with 11 assists and 16 points in 12 contests. His five goals are tied for third most on the club. Sawyer’s point total is also tops among all ECHL defenseman.
