ROCKFORD (WREX) - Street signs honoring the memory of a Rockford soldier killed in Iraq go up in front of Guilford High School.

The stretch of Spring Creek Road from Shaw Woods Road to Mulford Road is now known as Sgt. Blake W. Evans Road.

Sgt. Evans is a 2002 graduate of Guilford. He was killed by an explosive device while serving in Iraq on May 25, 2008.
