BELVIDERE (WREX) - Workers at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere went back to work, but it won't be long before they are on break again.
Workers will be back at the plant through Friday before Spokesman Max Gates says the plant will be shutdown again for two weeks, along with all other Chrysler factories.
Workers at the Belvidere plant have been off the job since May 1 when Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Most of Chrysler's assets have been sold to Italian automaker Fiat to help it emerge from bankruptcy protection.
The Belvidere plant assembles Dodge Calibers, Jeep Patriots and Jeep Compasses.
