WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin has recorded a first swine flu death outside of Milwaukee.
Authorities say a school-age child from Wausau is the fourth person to die of the illness in the state.
Marathon County health officials say the girl died yesterday at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Marshfield after being hospitalized since Saturday.
The child had an underlying medical problem raising the risk to die from the virus.
The other three deaths from swine flu -- two adults and an adolescent -- occurred in Milwaukee.
Officials say the Milwaukee adolescent was 14-year-old Tiara Mosley, a freshman at James Madison Academic Campus who was taken to the hospital June 1st and died Monday.
State health officials say there are nearly 3,500 confirmed and probable cases of swine flu in Wisconsin.
