ROCKFORD (WREX)- A medical mystery prevents one Harlem High School senior from walking at his graduation, but he still got a chance to celebrate.
Tyler Eberle celebrated graduation with friends, family and school board members at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He's been there for the past week. After working outside on a roof all day last Friday, he woke up the next day feeling numb and his condition gradually got worse. He started slurring his speech and eventually couldn't even move around. Family members thought it might be heat stroke, but doctors still don't have an answer. "The school offered to have this little get together here and they came and made a very special day out of it," said Mark Eberle, Tyler's father.
Tyler's dad says over the last few days his condition has improved. They'll find out test results this week.
