LOVES PARK (WREX) - District 100 schools are among seven districts honored in Boone and Winnebago Counties for high student achievement rates.

19 area schools made it onto the Illinois Honor Roll in 2008. To make the list schools have to show academic progress, have good attendance rates, and high schools need improved graduation rates.

State Superintendent Chris Koch was in town today.  He says, "Leadership certainly has a role. Good teaching, reflective instruction from folks that are often using coaching models in schools and using technology effectively and basically using all the resources they have to try and improve learning."

Koch says the schools honored today raise the bar for other schools around the state.
